Well now that we have the spiffy new school, I think a lot of new oppurtunities are opening up for us.  I've heard random talk during my time with the school about various outreach programs that may have been done or were talked about being done (?).

Well I would like to see some of this done after we get all settled in.  I know we have to finish building the inside and a lot of other issues to deal with, but there's no time like the present, right?

The most apparent oppurtunity that I see is some form of an afterschool program.  From there, we could do all kinds of things with the kids.  Keep them fit, play games ("Hey!  Who can hold horse stance the longest!"  ), possibly some city improvement stuff, etc.

Has any of this been done in the past at any of the schools?  Any other ideas?  What kind of limitations do we have?

Just FYI if you guys decide to do this I've worked with the YMCA for a number of years and understand a little on how these programs are normally run.
