Sifu,

Why are some of the swords (broadsword for example) in the kung fu system so flimsy or flexible?  Is it to help people in training so that they can use them correctly or is it an actual functionality?

Thanks,

Adam Linkous

Typically those weapons are for Wushu Performance(s).  The standard in Wushu is more on the overall performance of the competitor.  Not the functionality of the weapon or system being performed.  I don't like the Wushu Weapons myself.

Just a note here on an old topic, There is a really good site if you are interested in swords and swordsmanship called www.swordsonline.com

This is a site that sells swords and some really nice blades are available there, they also have classes you can register for and attend if you wish.

Notice, the site is not associated or affiliated with any particular martial art.
