Recently I reviewed my attendance for my Novice / Beginner class.  It has come to my attention that two of my students Ben Barrett and Mario Clark have more than 3 unexcused absences from my class.  I am upfront with my students and on their first class I make it clear that after 3 unexcused absences I will remove you from my class.  I have already spoken with Sifu regarding the matter.  Both of these students will be removed from my class.  When I see both of you next I will let you know which class each of you will be moved to.

I do not like removing students from my classes but I feel it is necessary.  The attendance overall, not just in my class, has been severely lacking at this location.  I do understand that things come up and that you cannot always attend classes.  This is fine.  All I ask is that you have enough respect for both this system and its instructors to take a couple of minutes to call the school and let someone know that you will not make it.  If your particular instructor is not available to take your call that you cannot attend, then leave a message on the machine or with another individual of the school.  You do not have to give the reasons for not attending, no excuses, not even that you are sorry that you cannot attend.  Just have the common courtesy to let them know.

Several of my other students are close to having over their 3 unexcused absences.  Please be aware and make it a point to take a few moments to let us know.  If any of my students would like to know how many unexcused absences you have then please ask me after class and I will be happy to tell you.
