So I've found a new job and now am in a better financial position to join a kung fu school here in the south jersey/philly area.  I went to one school in Philadelphia's chinatown on Saturday to watch a class.  The school is called seven mountain spirit fist: http://www.sevenmountainskungfu.com/  It's a pretty traditional school but a little too southern for my tastes.  I did find one school in Berlin, NJ that I'm happy to say I will be attending some preliminary classes at: http://www.southshaolin.com  This school is extremely traditional and very proud of it's buddhist heritage.  I think it will be very good and I'm looking forward to it.  My first class is on Tuesady.  It's one-on-one with the Sifu and supposed to be very difficult.  I'm excited and I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Last night was my first training night and today is my first day after.  It was one of those training sessions that just kick your "you-know-what".  It lasted two hours and it was just me and the Sifu.  It was pretty simple really.  We started off with 40 minutes of some pretty hardcore stretching, did 100 situps, some pull ups, push ups, then the rest of the night was just straight leg kicks (inside, outside and straight).  It seemed like a thousand kicks.  Seems like a good school.  My next session is on Sunday.
