Still Growing

I just wanted to let everyone know that our Troupe has done such an amazing job this past season that I have decided to purchase six (6) more Lions and a bit more equipment for our Troupe.  I was disappointed with everyone’s performance this past Sunday though.  It would have been fine for the 1^st performance of the season, but not the last one.

 

There will be ‘Mid-Year Tryouts’ for the Lion Dance Troupe in the next few months.  Every current Troupe member (Prime team, Alternate teams, Children’s teams, etc.) will need to tryout again to either assure your current position or move positions.  Since we will be operating more lions and teams, there will be more slots available for those within our school with the skill and dedication.

 

We will be working on more areas within the Troupe with even more diversity and challenge for those with the desire.  Our Prime team will still gather for practice every Saturday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm during the ‘off-season’.

WOW, 9 lions. Isnt that a bit much? We find it challenging working with just two teams, let alone 9 teams. Oh well, hope everything works out for you guys.....

We had a good season.  I'm amazed by how well our Troupe has been received by the community.

Actually, that will put us at 11 Lions.  You maybe right that it is a bit much.  However, I don't think it is enough.  We are retiring our oldest lion "Chun Xi".  That will put us at 10 this year.  I'm thinking about buying 2-3 more before the year is over.  Maybe a new Dragon.  I guess we shall see.
