Congratulations to Mark Bockstruck (Box) of the Saint Louis, MO Chapter for passing his SiHing test as of 06 March 2006.  It has been almost a year since someone has taken this test.  Good job, Box!  I knew you could do it!

For me, becoming a SiHing was the first of many steps I have in Shaolin Lohan Kung Fu and though it took longer than I desired to get here, it is going to take much longer to accomplish the things I want to accomplish in our system.  But getting here was my first step and I have many people to thank for helping me get here.

SiHing Kurt for being my first SiHing and developing the ground work I needed for the rest of my training.  Like I said to you after our last class together, no matter where I go in the system, you will always be my first teacher. Thanks Kurt.

SiHing Bart for helping me pass my red sash test, teaching me basics of the staff form, and continually pushing me until my time was up in Rolla.  Thanks Bart.

Dai-Sihing Kevin for teaching me a good part of what I know of Tiger and preparing me for my black tassel test.  Also, thanks for naming a move after me.  I feel so loved to know what it is to "Box" someone.  Thanks Kevin.

Dai-Sihing Matt helped me most of all to get ready for this test.  You helped me achieve my first major goal in the system by fine tuning everything so that I was able to pass this test, as well as the red and orange tassel tests.  Hopefully with time, I can take some of the burden off your shoulders of teaching so many classes.  Thanks Talby.

And of course Sifu himself.  No one pushes me harder than Sifu and though I know he is still being nicer to me than he should, he knows what I am capable of and I will never question his motives.  He has expectations of me that I don't even yet have for myself, but I know that I never want to let him, or even myself, down in any way.

I want to also thank my fellow classmates throughout my training.  Though there are too many to name, each classmate has taught me something along the way, either being what to do or what not to do.  But I am most thankful for the acceptance I have received from each and every one of you.  Shaolin Lohan Pai School of Kung Fu is not just a school, but a family of which I am proud to be a part of.  I just hope to do the best that I can for myself, for Shaolin Lohan Pai, and for all those responsible for bring this system before us.

Xie Xie,

SiHing Box (<- it just rolls of the tongue, doesn’t it?)
