The essense has many meanings my Sifu.
It is wise to see everything not just one thing in particular. You can not know where to go if you can't see what has happened. You can't judge what has happened if you didn't go anywhere in the first place.
One must be able to do both not just one or the other, because to do all of one thing one can't see what the effect is to do it better if it is required to do it again or do it differently. If one only sits to see what happens and not go anywhere one will get nowhere and learn nothing to go somewhere else if he gets bored of asking questions.
