Alrighty guys, as acting head instructor i'm finally putting my foot down and saying we are making a monthly trip to st. louis for class. I know you guys have been itching to learn stuff, and i'm sick and tired of hearing about how you don't get to. So post you thoughts here for which saturday of the month (1st, 4th, etc) would be best for you. This way we can carpool up there and it won't be cost prohibitive. You guys have one week before I make the decision for you if no one replies, and then i will expect you all to be able to make the trip (barring any ridiculus circumstances). Right now i'm leaning towards the 1st saturday of every month, because then you will not be able to forget it (tuiton = class), and it will give you guys a couple of weeks to get back into shape for sifu's class before we head up there. This is a democratic dictatorship, your opinions are welcome, but Sifu's word is law Post your thoughts here so that everyone involved will be able to have the full knowledge of what is going on, and we can figure this out. Is this just for red sashes, or can we lowly peons join in? Because even as a lowly peon, I would like to come up to STL once a month for training. The first Saturday of the month sounds like a good general rule for me, though I will hopefully be in Chicago on April 7th.

Sifu has always indicated to me and my students that if you're willing to make the trip, then he's willing to work with you (time permitting). Even if he can't, Dai-Sihing Sears, Dai-Sihing Talbert, Sihing Balestra and Sihing Bockstruck are excellent resources for a beginner "peon", or even a more experienced "peon" like myself and Sihing Allen. We can all benefit from each other's input and guidance. Remember, the Kwoon is the martial home for members of the Pai of any rank, from Novice to Si-Dai-Gung. If you're a student of Shaolin Lohan Kungfu, then you are welcome there.

I did some checking, but don't think that any particular time of the month is better or worse for me than another. I can't promise too many weekends, though. Everyone wants me to travel. But it would be nice to get up there now and again. John-Henry

alrighty, here's the verdict. We are going up on the first saturday of each month for class in st. louis. Is there any particular time that you would prefer us up there sifu? i know most of us would prefer to have class in the early afternoon if possible so that we can make it a day trip.

I'm thinking 3:00 pm after Tai Chi.
However, I have a meeting with the Board of Directors on 07 April 2007. How about the following weekend?

I think most of us can swing that. I won't be there if we are on the 14th though due to grad school stuff (unless i dont' have to actually be there to have my poster on display at the Interdisciplinary Graduate Forum. i'll check around and get back to you. But i think we could plan on everyone giong up there on the 14th unless you would rather do it a week early on march 31st?
