I wanted to take this time to talk about something that has been bothering all of the Instructors in the school. The biggest concern is with the lack of training and the relatively poor attendance of students within this school.
My personal concerns are with the Senior Students and the Lion Dance Troupe. There are many people that look up to you. Do not fail yourself, this system or all of those that look to you for guidance and strength. The Lion Dance Troupe needs to bring it up a few notches. The plans I have for the Troupe requires more training and more Troupe practice together! The individual Teams have done a lot. However, I know we can all do more!
Everyone needs to understand that Kung Fu, in all of its forms, requires diligence and practice in order to excel. There are three specifics with the “Eight Goals” of this system that comes to mind. They are:
1.) DISCIPLINE: Training that is expected to produce specific character or pattern of behavior; especially training that produces moral or mental improvement.
2.) PERSEVERANCE: Continuing strength or patience, withstanding difficulties or resistance, striving for a goal. Keeping a course of action!
3.) PERCEPTION: Ability to foresee unseen possibilities. To expand one's conscious mind prior to action.
Kung Fu is the ultimate form of “Self-Expression”. However, it cannot be given or taken by someone else. Though all of the Instructors in this school care for your development. You must understand that the Journey must be taken by you alone. No one within this system can make you better or worse. With all that in mind… I want to challenge each and every one of you to push yourselves towards excellence in every part of your life.
