its been a while since i have posted but the other day i had a good experience with breakfalling.
last year i sold my car and have been commuting by bicycle.
the other night i fell off my bike.

a split second decision saved my left elbow.

i couldnt quite keep from landing on my left side but i was able to bring my right arm around and slap the ground hard enough to absorb the impact. roadrash hurts but not as bad as a broken bone.

what is most striking is that my hand isnt bruised but the blood vessels have broken in a area about the size of a quarter on the meatiest part of my healpalm. brings back memories of breakfall training.

i didnt have time to think about it at the time of the accident but looking back i know it was my breakfall training that allowed my body to take care of business . i didnt have time to decide but it was a conscious effort to control my landing in a way to keep from seriously injuring my arm.
 xie xie sifu.

cheers! to self control

My pleasure, Brian.  Nice to see that 'Kung Fu is doing you' rather than you 'doing Kung Fu'.
